MAKA, TANMAY · WORKSHEET 2 OF 11

Minerva University · student finance, remote · Aug 2025 – Apr 2026

Payroll, insurance, and checking that the paperwork adds up.

I worked in Minerva’s Student Finance Centre: payroll, insurance, revenue tracking and the finance emails that go to the whole university. The piece that was mine: guidelines for spotting fraud in students’ financial declarations.

Arvenia’s rules (invented): payslips on the 2025 form, with an employer tax ID (AR-######). Tax letter for 2024 or 2025. Bank statement from the last three months. Typical pay for this kind of job: 1,500–3,000 ARD a month.

Sample data, made up for this page: the students, the country, its rules and every number. It is not Minerva’s guideline, and no real declaration is shown.

    What the job looked like

    Four parts of it.

    01

    Handed to me

The Student Finance Centre’s work: payroll, insurance, revenue tracking and university-wide finance communications.

    02

    Made

Guidelines for spotting fraud in students’ financial declarations.

    03

    What they check

Income and asset documents, against each country’s compliance standards, the document formats currently used there, and its economic context.

    04

    The size of it

    $4M+

in payroll for more than 400 student interns, which I helped administer, inside a finance operation of about $43M in university revenue.

    The rest of the job

The everyday side of the centre.

Honest limit: the guidelines are internal and students’ documents are private, so everything in the check above is invented, down to the country. I helped administer the payroll; I didn’t run it alone.
